Harold Daniels
As a country boy growing up in the Tennessee foothills, Harold spent most of his childhood riding around on tractors and swimming in watering holes. He left the family farm behind as a teen and moved to the “big city” to study photography at the Art Institute of Atlanta. Then paid his dues schlepping gear for and assisting some of the most noted photographers in the country including John Huet, Gregory Heisler, Jim Fiscus and Liz VonHoene.
Opening his own studio in 2001, Harold has earned a solid reputation creating memorable images for an impressive roster of advertising and editorial clients. He has photographed lots of big shots and celebs including President Jimmy Carter, Ted Turner, Jane Fonda, Andre Benjamin aka Andre 3000, and John Legend. His portraits, documentary essays and fashion stories have appeared in publications such as ELLE, ESSENCE, IN STYLE, SPIN, THE SOURCE, and THE ADVOCATE among many others.
Harold is a recipient of The Kodak Medallion of Excellence and has been awarded numerous honours by design and photography associations nationally. When he’s not living out of a suitcase, Harold lives and works in the downtown Atlanta loft studio he shares with his partner Erik and their dogs Molly & Sophie.
